Well this is a little hard to say. Loved Tahiti when ilooked around and saw a huge lemon shark for the first time that made my heart skip a beat: looked at the divemaster and he had no reaction so figured no big deal. Loved the brightly colored clams on Bora Bora: looked like the submarine ride at Disneyland. The other dive that really stands out was a 100 ft wall night dive in Cayman to see the basket starfish opened up: as we came to the surface could see the stars in the night sky from 10 feet under water: surreal!!
I did a live aboard in Grenada/St. Vincent in May and it was some great diving. I thought the fish life and reefs were some of the healthiest I had seen since I dove in Los Roqas years ago. Then I went diving in Papau New Guinea and there was no comparison. The huges schools of barracuda hovering over reefs, sharks and turtles on every dive and the overall diversity was amazing. Plus seeing smoking volcanoes in the distance really added to the feel of the trip. You just have to plan on 5 days of travel to get to and from Kimbe. I will do PNG again once I get a little extra vacation time built up!
